warning about a lfs in lynchburg

I won't say which one as it may not be allowed here but I will tell you the basics of what happened. My husband works in Lynchburg and I asked him to go to one of the stores to see what they had for treating ich. I had lost one fish that I was almost certain had ich. I came home from work yesterday to find out that not only did my husband NOT bring home medication, he brought home 2 fish !! I can't even relay in words how angry I was. It seems that an employee ( I was told this was the sw fish manager ) convinced my husband we did not have ich and sold him a squirrel fish and a panther grouper ! I lost my mind when I saw what was in the tank. This guy told him that a 75g was perfectly fine for a " spotted grouper". Well yeah, it would be, IF this was a spotted grouper !! It is white with dark polka dots...panther grouper all day long.
Luckily my husband has watched me acclimate fish many times and knew what to do. The thing is, they took advantage of his lack of knowledge and basically swindled him. I haven't called yet as I am trying to let my anger subside before I do. I should have never let him go and just went to my lfs here in Lexington for the treatment. I was short on time yesterday and figured he could just pop in and get what I asked him to. This will teach me to trust any store other than my own.
What ticks me off the most is the fact that this guy was supposed to be the sw fish manager and he doesn't even know the difference between a spotted grouper and a panther grouper ???? Second thing that ticks me off is that a customer goes in with potential ich and they convince him that " no...you don't have ich. Hey, while you are here, let me sell you these fish that I have no idea about but I will lie through my teeth to get a sale."
I just thought I would give everybody a heads up about a local store taking advantage of the less informed.

I have been in contact with the store and the problem has been resolved professionally and in a timely manner. This was a miscommunication error and I give the store kudos for responding promptly to the situation.

Good for you for not letting your anger get the better of you, glad to hear that the LPS done the right thing. After all we need them as bad as they need us.
What fish had/has ich? Have you thougth of getting a cleaner shrip or neon gobies. That way you don't have to medicate your tank.

I recently picked up a yellow stripe cleaner goby from Ultimate Aquariums in Salem and he cleans my fish more than my cleaner shrimp. Being colorful and serving a purpose, he is an awesome addition to any reef.

GREAT STORE!!!! Great owner , knowledgable and fair .... not sure of the street address ...allthough it is right smack dab in the middle of salem ...give him a call or im sure someone here will pop in w/ the address ....
