Washing equipment

Hey guys, really quick question. I just want to know; when I wash sponges or filter bags out (yes, I know I could probably get along without a sponge, but I have one in now to grab some of the larger particulates floating around in my room), do you have to use dechlorinated water? Can I just take the sponge under the faucet, or should I rinse it out in a bucket with dechlorinator?

Thanks!

I just use the kitchen sink and then let air dry for my filter socks. Never had a sponge so I cannot answer that one.
