washing filter sox,broke

i washed a few socks todat,to find most of the plastic rings at the top snapped in half,i washed them on regular cycle,hot wash cold rinse,anyone have this happen?what do i do next time??

I always wash my socks on regular cycle cold wash cause the machine doesn't have hot water. It never happened to me. Maybe try it on delicates cycle?
