Watchman goby not watching...

I've had a watchman goby for roughly a month now (paired with a shrimp), who rarely ever comes out of the burrow (when he does come out, he stays out all day, and nothing really scares him back in). Would getting another gobie help with keeping him outside the burrow? Also the burrow is underneath barnacles, which don't allow a lot of sand to collapse back into it, so i rarely see the shrimp either.

Any advice?

also, when he does come out he has cuts on his fins. It's not from fin rot, as they are jagged. All tankmates are peaceful. Does anybody know what may cause this?

Just give them some time to sort it out. Adding another goby would probably make things worse as the two gobies may fight...

Probably wouldn't hurt to move or remove the barnacles...

I think my Randall's pistol was damaging my YWG. He kicked him out a few times too. Always looked roughed up. Maybe the pistol wasn't getting enough food, not sure.

Alright, thanks. I'll probably get the barnacles out of there. The barnacle blennies don't really use them anyways lol.
