Well how can I start this off.... well today I wanted to do a water change on my 150g tank. wile I was at it I wanted to re-scape the rocks. I 10 fish corals all I have is a carpet anemone and a couple of red mushrooms.
As normal I started the water change and took all the rocks out, including the ones with the mushrooms attached. After I knew how I wanted to do set the rocks I began to do so. All the fish stayed in the tank except fro my lionfish, (didn't want the accidental stinging). After I was all done with the rocks I began to notice my puffer fish swim erratically, after a while he just stopped all together. I then started seeing my other two tangs and my female clownfish do the same. At this point I had put the lionfish back in, he too was acting weird. I noticed some slime like stuff coming from their gills. All in all I lost 5 fish. most of which I've had for a long time and started this hobby with, not to mention my two fav fish died lion and puffer.
My guess is between the sand floating from the sand bed being disturbed and the anemone and mushrooms releasing slimy stuff, all of that stuff got into the fish gills and pretty mush suffocating them.
Has anyone ever experienced this or can anyone t me know if they know what happened?
