Water change sitting out???

If my prepared water has been sitting for a week, is it still usable? It was covered and aerated the entire time.

Also, I have a 29g. I was changing 5g per week. It was mentioned that this may have been too frequent, since it was a 20g per change, so I switched to every other week. This is why the water sat.

Any help would be great as my change is scheduled for this weekend.

Thanks!

Ive mixed my water and had it sit over 2 weeks with a heater and pump in it.... there will be evaporation obviously, top it off and use it.....

New salt water prepared from pure fresh water can typically sit for as long as you want it to, whether it is heated or aerated or not (I do neither). It is different than old tank water which cannot be stored because the organics and such in it will degrade and potentially cause anaerobic production of hydrogen sulfide.

I've made the mistake of not dumping a water change bucket out of used water. I let it sit for like a week, and it definately did not smell pleasant at all. lol
