Just wondering if i changed my water every week say about 10% most i do at the moment is 15% every 2 weeks .Question is would i still need to ad trace and calcium ect or should the regular water changes do it for me? Read somewhere dat if you do regular water changes you shouldn't need to add anything.

trace? Your salt should provide any trace that you need. As for the calcium it all depends on the amount of stony corals that you have and what brand of salt mix you use. The best way to diagnose this is to just test for calcium. In most cases if you're in the 400 range you are good to go. If it's closer to 300 you need to supplement.

Your calcium can also be absorbed by the growth of coraline algae. If you want to keep coraline algae then you still need to supplement calcium, but before adding any additive always test to see what the current level is.

you should be testing your water regulary and that will tell you what you need to add..... btw as far as trace minerals regular water changes should take care of that but youll need to test calcium, alkilinty, and ph and then take it from there with the differant buffers i personally use seachem

I think it could be my salt just tested my salt water bucket that im gonig to do a changed with and its about the same.Dont have many corals just a few soft. so is there a chance that im not useing the calcium up .

Oh by the way my salt is tropic marin (german) live in Ireland so dont get as many salt products as you get in the U.S.
