Water Changes

Hi everyone My name is Phil I have a few posts on this subject and am still having trouble uploading pics but have some in my album. I would love to see and here how everyone does water changes so I can finally make my mind up on what way will work best for me in my house.
Thanx

I use Rubbermaid Brute trash cans for new saltwater mixing and waste water removal. Remove and add water to my sump except when I vacuum the sand bed. Been doing it that way since the beginning. Getting ready to switch over to water barrels. Good Luck!

I have small tanks so I just have a 5 gallon bucket with lid for preventing spills. I run the water from my RODI unit into the bucket. Once its full I put a heater and circulation pump in the bucket and add the salt and let it mix for a couple hours. Once the salinity and temp match my tank I empty the salt water out my window, the tank is right beside it. And just add the newly mix salt water to the tank. It takes me about 10 minutes to do this. Super simple and easy for me.
If you have a bigger tank you can always make the process go faster by putting a pump on the end of the tub that is going to suck the water out. Most people use those cheap trash cans.

Remove it from the display tank or the sump which is the best way does it make a difference? What I mean is what I mean is I have heard some people have a pump in the sump to take a certain amount out and then refill the sump also I have seen siphon setups for different amounts and that way you know how much you're taking out I just need to figure out the best way to go for my setup that's where I'll have to go to Photoshop and see if I can get the pictures so people can understand. If you can picture my set up the salt water mixing station is in the attic over my garage and that has a half inch line that I have run right to the sump with the valve that I can control how much I put in I also have I half inch PVC line in the same room that I can hook up to the drain I am just trying to figure out the easiest way to go. Hooking into the half inch drain line I have would probably be easier with a pump although it is high enough are low enough that if I started to siphon it would work fine. Is starting to siphon part that I need to figure out if I go that way with the right hookup in the display tank it would be the most accurate I would think but if you have it set up so you can just work from the sump only that seems to be the easiest and there I go again what's the best way to go.
