does any body have a way they do water changes like temp, how long do you let mix, light on light off, water mover on off etc.............whats the best way

I like the water to be at least 24 hours old. That gives it time to heat, dissapate any bad stuff, etc. Other than that, I pull it out and dump it in. Not to worried about lights, pumps, etc. (although if the lights are off and cold, you don't have to worry about accidently blowing one up if it gets hit by a lot of water...)

i do mine every Sunday, one hour after lights off.
i make sure to circulate with a heater at least 24 hrs. minimum.
saltwater will have some barely dectable ammonia when first mixed, this time limit allows it to disipate.
i make sure the temp. is within 0.5F of the system.
all parameters should be as close to the system parameters as possible.
i syphon 15% via a 1" diameter hose, than add the new water back in via a 3/8" hose connected to a MJ-1200 powerhead.
it takes appx. 30 minutes to complete.

I pull the water out of the make up Brute, I then add salt, I then take water out of the tank, then I put new water in the tank and then I throw in a little PH buffer and I am done.
