water flow -what's standard right now?

It's been awhile since I researched flow and pumps. I've had my little tank for almost 10 years and I see that pumps are now available with much higher outputs/flow rates.
For a 130g what's currently the 'recommended' range of gph supplied by powerheads?
I already have a 1500 gph powerhead and am wondering how strong my second powerhead in that system should be?

I also have a sump with a 750gph return pump but I don't think that counts towards flow rate, does it?

For powerheads people go with 40-150x turnover depending on their setup and the animals they wish to keep.

Wow - 150x?
So in a 130g that would be 19,500gph?
Am I doing the math wrong here?
Seems like that would blast the last bit of corraline algae off the rocks! :o

it can be done, but usually only in Bare bottom SPS only tanks, and usually the powerheads are on a controller that ramps them up and down so its not the full 150x 100% of the time.

150x is a case of extreme flow, but SPS tanks regularly have 100x or more.

if i was setting up a 130G i would use 2 or 3 tunze 6105 or Vortech mp-40W for around 7-10,000 GPH but i would not run them at 100% all the time.
