Water from dehumidifier

Wondering if the water from dehumidifier could be used in place of r/o? My basement dehumidifier is taking in a lot of water and instead of dumping it, I wonder if I could pour it in my barrel that I use to mix salt .

Thoughts?

I wouldn't use it since it's the result of being condensed out on metal coils. No doubt has a high metal content.

You could use it for the lawn or garden. My cousin has her dehumidifier dump right into a her watering jug then uses it every day to water the indoor plants.

Completely concur with the Conesus Consensus. Could cause chaos among captive crustaceans (and fish too).
