I have a 5 foot tank (700l) and I have a magnifica, about 7 BTA's, a few LPS hammers and frogspawns and some zoas.
The water in my tank is very clear however I am currently suffering from black looking cyno? The stuff appears during the day but disappears at night.
I have also started vodka dosing 4 weeks ago.
Today I got a free 5g sample of JBL Plankton Pur so decided to give it a go. A few hours later as night fell, around 10pm the wife goes there's something wrong with your tank. I look round and the whole tank is cloudy. I check everything and all seems fine, no shredded nems, fish look like they are settling in for the night.
The only thing I can see that is weird is the tank is full of white specs, around 1 to 2mm in size, some are round but the majority are long/stringy.
Is this something spawning in my tank? was it triggered by the feeding of plankton or was this just a coincidence?
