water level 1" different

I have a question for you all because I'm puzzled. My 125 6' tank has a 1 inch difference at each end in the water level. The floor is dead level and the stand is only 1/8 bubble out of level at the top. The top of the tank is the same 1/8 bubble out of level. is the bottom of the tank seam dropping?
please tell me. an 1/8 th bubble out on a 6 foot span shouldn't equal an inch,I'm using a 4 foot level by the way. There is no water leaking(yet)

Guaranteed. Absolutely guaranteed that the surface of the water is level. If there is an inch difference, then your tank is not level. I don't know about the seam at the bottom, but definitely, the top rim of the tank is not level.

I thought that too( I know water will always level out,i'm in construction and have used water levels before), but the level on the top of the satand(bottom of tank) reads the same as the top of the tank, less than an 1/8 bubble out with a 4 foot level...got me stumped. I even measured from top of stand to water level at both ends,,it is only 1/2 not 1 " but still. Now I have to try to level stand..it was level before i put tank on top, guess it sank on one end due to the carpet! I have some of those magnet slider things that are a little over 3/8 thick, maybe use my hand truck and slide it under end and see if i can lift it high enough to get sliders under...I really don't want to drain tank it's about 7/8th full and i don't have any where to store 100 gallons of water

Well you say you are construction so you probably know this, but did you check your level? If you switch left end for right end of the level is it still off by 1/8th of a bubble.

I agree with the level being out. If your water is off by 1/2" from one side to the other you should only have to shim a 1/4" on one side to level it out.

the floor is level, i think the difference is in the way the satnd sits on the carpet. i think it got bunch up a bit on one end when i set it up and the weight of the water made the level difference. i'll play with it and see if i can get it a little better. 1/2" isn't that bad anyway

How do you figure? It won't pivot on the center (or at least it shouldn't).

I think I have been out of construction to long..Thanks for correcting me.
If you have trim it should cover 1/2",maybe it will settle a bit. Hopfully it wont drive you crazy later.

Silly question, but do you have an overflow of any sort on the lower end?

I have a coast to coast style which then dumps all the water out of one end and it gets a nice slant to it when my return pump is on full tilt.

yeah I have a 14" overflow on the end that is lower but the water isn't high enough to go into it yet!I don't have my sump plumbed yet!been lazy, keep waking up halfway through the night from stress..I don't think I've gotten more than 4 hours sleep a night in months
