water level: 1076 outlet

I am looking to have my tank drilled to accomodate the 1076 outlet on the back wall. However, I have not yet seen one of these units in person.

The detailed diagram on the Tunze website is good, but I can't make out what the nominal water level is above the center of the outlet hole? I am therefore battling to decide where to drill because I may drill too high or too low?

If anyone has one of these units in operation, please could you let me know how far your water level is from the top of the unit, and your flow rate so I can work out the hole location?

I would ask George Halakas at AquaAfrika, the back style outlets are not common in America so I have no experience with them.
