water level too high in my rimless?

I decided to test my 11.4 gallon in the bathtub to see if my pump/return/overflow worked properly...but it seems like the tank's water level is extremely high. I took a quick video of the testing on my crappy iphone. Is this kind of waterlevel normal in a rimless tank? I feel like I drilled the overflow hole too high and the return hole too low.

I need some advice because I don't wanna make a mess/flood when i move into my new apartment lol

IMO it looks about right to me. You have great surface agetation. How strong is that return pump ? Whats the GPH?

you think so?

In the video I have a mp10 running half powerish and my return pump going. The return pump is the Tunze Silence 1073.20. The site rates the pump at 634 gph but it's variable and I have it on the lowest setting in the video.

I might even add a ball valve to crank it down a little more, so i can get less water movement through my sump and so it doesn't compete with my mp10 in the display.

Yeah you might have to crank it down as i have a 50 gallong cube running a Mag 7 for return with is (700 GPH) and my tank is 4 times bigger than yours.

haha yeah

The pump shouldn't be going as fast as it was in the video because it will be going straight up from my sump into my display and in the video it is going like a foot sideways..so it may work right once there is added height.

I'm thinking about testing it in the garage with a makeshift sump and a more level area to get a real idea.
