water melon

what benefits do you see from watermelon?
liquid supplements would be a better source for vitamins if that is your goal

Why not. There is a member on here that feeds his CB butterfly and Moorish Idol bannana without any trouble. I would suggest avoiding feeding only watermelon. Remember variety is the spice of life.

running a skimmer should take care of that, but still, why would you want to feed them water melon???
strips of nori or some other marine vegetation would be much more nutritious

maybe watermelon is the secret to keeping Moorish Idols successfully in captivity !!!!!!!!

still not sure why you would want to... The sugar will not hurt your tank there are a lot of people right now dosing their reef tanks with sugar to increase bacterial populations.... anyway odd

jjackson: Really? I am very interested for your point of view.
what is bacterial you say? Do I add food sugar into tank to increase nitrobacteria? thanks

People add sugar to lower their nitrates, i know someone that had 80 ppm nitrates and from adding sugar he got them down to 0 within 2 weeks, and he doesnt do any water changes or anything, he justs adds a pinch every other day. At first the tank may get cloudy but eventually the water will be grystal clear once again.

Well watermelons are 70% water. 30% sugar/vitamins etc...

I dont see how it can harm them. Maybe even make them flourish.

This can probably only be supplemental feeding. Just keep up with the regular feedings of formula one flakes/pellets etc.
