Water movement in a 10 gallon tank

I have a penguin 200B and a maxi-jet 400. I think I need more flow because in some spots there seems to be a pink color on the sand. What do you guys recomment? Should I add a maxi-jet 600 or 900 (I do not want the sand all over the place, so I don't want to much movement)?

Another thing is I was thinking of switching my powerfilter to a aquaclear filter (can I adjust the flow for feeding time), what do you guys think?

@Madnav87.........I was thinknig of that.

@ 10 gallon tank owners, what do you guys use for water movement?

i only have a return pump going through a scwd wave maker. i love the motion and changing water currents.

im upgrading to a 65 gallon breeder so i dont know how effective my scwd will be.

I have 2 MJ400, one in each corner, the return from my fluval 204. The flow is just right, everything in my tank seems to be happy.

The red stuff is just algae, I suspect--not to worry. I bought a 12g Nano JBJ that was up and running about a year, and I've had it nearly 2 months. No extra power heads--stock on that hangs out in the back. For what it's worth, the tank is VERY healthy--xenia are like weeds, polyps look great, mushrooms look great, as do frog spawn. HOWEVER, I did buy one of those smallest size mini jets and I left room behind my reef to stick it in there. Mostly, I want to add counter current for corals and make sure there are no dead spots.
