water movement?

ok so i just moved my tank to a new tank and changed my fuge setup. i made a mark on the fuge with a marker and i have been watching the level go down past the mark over night like a 1/4 inch. can increased water flow make more evaporation?

Increased water flow would/could cause increased evaporation. Also the larger surface area of the tank would too. A 1/4" in the sump is not that much. I beleive your sump is 20-gallons, correct? Roughly every inch of water should be between 1 to 2-gallons depending on exact dimensions of the sump, so 1/4 inch would be about 1/4 to 1/2-gallon of water. I replace about a gallon every 2 days in my 75-gallon.

Yeah, good strong surface agitation in my system. The tank is 48 x 24. My sump is a 40 breeder. All that surface area plus a fan blowing across the top equals almost two gallons a day.
