My RO/DI is from http://www.airwaterice.com

The directions are very clear. Walter will modify it for you at no extra charge. I had him change the direction of the flow in the DI chamber to decrease the separation of the resin. Mine is plumbed so that the water enters from the top of the DI cartrige.

Mine (Typhoon III) came with a free TDS meter and a free float.

I am very happy with the unit and the customer service is great.

I wont get into a which RO?DI is best debate, I've seen to many. I'm a poor broke chick and I got alot of bang for my 65 bucks.

I have had my unit for over a year now. It works great - my TDS reading didnt start to go up until I had it in use for over 6 months(heavy use, tank, drinking and cooking etc...) - $15 bucks for replacement filters and its back to 1ppm TDS reading.

Minh and a few other members have the same unit and have had no trouble that I know of.

I wouldn't buy the unit that TotalKhaos linked to. IMO, the DI resin container is too small. I bought my unit from AquaSafe from Ebay. BTW - I also prefer color changing resin. You can also buy it from the ebay seller I listed below for the RODI unit.

Don't forget to take off the carbon filter (at the very top). Also - I mounted my DI resin vertically and the DI resin appears to last longer.

John has the one you originally put up, he says he hasn't had any problems with his, I do like the idea of a bigger DI unit.

But there is one from the ebay seller that you first put up, has a Dual DI cartridges? would 2 make a difference, if the first one got rid of all the crud, why would you need a second one.

My DI case is clear. The resin bead that I am using is a dark green that turns orange as it is used up.

The carbon filter is used for taste (drinking water). If you leave the carbon filter on, and you test the water, it won't measure zero. There would be no way for you to know if you need to flush your filter, replace the DI or replace the filter since the water will never test zero. The carbon filter is useless for aquarium use. BTW - I do use the carbon filter inline for my ice maker.

BTW - I have been debating getting a second DI resin case. I don't know if it would work any better.

Hi Minh, don't mean to disagree, but I thought that the carbon filter was to remove the chloramines. I thought that some of the RO membranes can be destroyed by chlorine. I have a five stage unit, stage 1 sediment filter, stage two GAC, stage three carbon block, stage 4 R/O membrane, and stage 5 de-ionizing. My input reads at around 200ppm and my output reads 0ppm.

I re-read your post and you must be talking about some kind of output filter. Mine didn't have that.
