Water Pump

I was looking for a good water pump for my sump, but I don't want to break the ban either. I was thinking about a Mag Drive 950 Pump. Any ideals will help.

I have a 100 gal, and just starting my sump and it's not set up yet. I want to know what will be easier as far as the pump and I will work around it as far as the fittings.

My Quiet One 3000 has a rattle to it: Even with a new impeller, shaft, and bushings.

I ran a Mag 5 for a few weeks: It had an annoying humm to it.

From all that I've read, Eheim is the way to go. But, they are bigger than most other pumps. I can't fit one in my sump's compartment, otherwise, that's what I'd try next.

Do you have one return or two, and how big are the returns? I'd recommend 3-5 times your tank size or a return pump. A mag7 might be good with head loss, or an Eheim 1260 would be better but more expensive.

Eheim over the mag for sure. I had to get rid of 2 of 3 mags because of noise issues. Eheims seem to produce more flow and use less power than the mags as well.
