water question?

this may be a simple question or i may be a little paranoid! I had a bad start to filling my first tank, and had to literaly flush money down the toilet draining it. This time i bought already mixed saltwater and refilled it and the water is crystal clear but...now there is a fine layer of some kind of little particles or something floating around on the surface only?? Is that normal??

if there is not enough surface flow you will develop a film, add a maxijet to move that water around more

all i have so far is Koralia powerhead, but it's pointed down, should i face it towards the surface? Looks like little hairs or dust or something, i don't know...thanks!

I would have it moving the surface for sure

yes towards the surface, if that just sits still you get that filmy buildup. You dont need it splashing around but good movement

done...thanks guys, i plan on getting a couple more powerheads, should the surface of a reef tank always be disturbed?

wont hurt anything. You can turn them off to feed. I would recommend keeping them on the rest of the time.

i have the entire surface of my 120 disturbed if not yes stuff develops there film dust dog hair etc. forgot if you had a sump or not if you have an overflow that should be surface skimming somewhat also, which can help too.

Pointing it up breaking the waters surface also helps with the co2, oxygen exchange process.
