I was wondering Instead of using tap water, I am wondering if the water from those Glacier ice machine that have reverse osmosis . where you can put a 5 gallon jug and fill it up...

would that be good for tank water....

John at yourreef said hes gonna start carrying water for sale thats pre mised for about a buck a gallon, so I might do that...

what are yalls opinions?

If you look at what water from other sources costs, if you plan to be in the hobby for the next year a RODI unit really does become the cheapest option....

Just my $0.02

I thought that those machines were a good source of RO water myself...... Until I witnessed a bum washing his hair in one. I invested in a RO/DI a few weeks later.

LOL well that sucks.. I am thinking about one of those, John at your reef said he could get me a good one for $125 or so... Im thinking about it...

I live downtown and use tap water with no problems. I know others here do as well, although we are in a minority. I would test your water and see if it is necessary first.
