Does the waters temperature effect the results when checking spg? What is an ideall water temp for testing spg?

yes, my refract directions say allow 30 seconds for the temp to regulate. if useing a hydrometer, same rule applies. REEF-ON!!!

many have temperature compenstation. Else there is a table that can be found that has the adjustments. The refractometer I posted about that is on sale has temp compensation.

Thanks for posting the link to that refractometer, I just bought one, I've been playing the guessing game with hydrometers long enough.
