Water Temp

Hello, I have been runing my 24g nano cube for 3weeks now and everything seems to be going good so far, except for the water temperature. I live in California and the temp. here fluctuates everyday.
The water temp in my aquarium fluctuates from 76F at night to 80F during the day when the lights are on. The lights run for 8hrs everyday. Sometimes the temp in the aquarium rises to 82F and I lower the temp on the heater. Last night the aquarium water hit 82F and I lower the temp. on the heater to 69F and it didn't make a difference. How do I fix this problem?

heaters wont cool the tank. If you set it lower than what the water is already at, it just shuts off. Then it automatically turns back on once the temp gets below whatever you have it set at.

But what heater do you have?

IMO if its only going from 76 to 80 (sometimes 82), and its GRADUAL (not very sudden changes) then its fine. My tank drops a couple degrees at night with no problems.

If you're having problems keeping it cooler than 82 (thats the highest i'd let it get) then put a small clip on fan over the opening on the back or whatever.

another quick fix could be propping the lid open just a bit to allow more evaporation which will release heat.

the type of heater I have is a Ebo Jager Automatic heater 100w. I will try leaving the lid open tonight and see what happens. Thx
