Water turning brown

I’ve had my saltwater aquarium for 15 years, this is the first time I have experienced the water turning a brownish color. The fish seem to be fine. Any ideas what I can do.

Granulated activated carbon is a safe option. Would you post a full tank shot with white light?

I like the carbon filtration as well but would sure be interested in where that color came from.

Would you give more details on your system! I looked for a tank journal?

Normally the water turn color if there are organic dissolved compounds in it. Bacterial or algae bloom normally does not turn the water color, but cause the to be cloudy. What is your skimmate is like? Sometime died off of read algae can cause the water turning red/brown due to pigment in the algae.
We won’t know why your tank water turn brown unless you gone us more information.
If you are going to say: the tank is fine and every body is normal, then we won’t know.
