Waterflow for a Percula Clownfish

Hello. I have an Aquaclear powerhead in my 30g (20l x 18w x 20h) tank rated upto 174gph. Would this be too much or too little waterflow for a Percula Clownfish? Thanks!

It's a bit light for my preferences but as long as there are no dead spots in the tank it should be OK.

Thanks for the reply, Dan Todd. I just got the clownfish yesterday. After putting him in the tank (with the powerhead on), I noticed that he wasn't really moving around too much so I decided to turn-off the power head, thinking it was too much for him. After I did that, it seemed he was moving and exploring around a bit more. Hmmm, I don't know. Maybe I was a bit impatient when I did that. I'll probably turn it on again and see how he does. Thanks again! Much appreciated.

There is a lot of current and breaking waves near clowns in the wild so they're used to it. As long as he's healthy he can find a spot that has flow he likes. Look at the video in the "Rod's Onyx" thread. He posted a video of his clowns in the surge tank on one of the later pages...

Wow, that is some good flow in that video! I didn't get a chance to turn my powerhead on last night but I definitely will do this when I get home from work. Now, if only my clown would eat. Only been about 2 days since I've had him tho. Thanks DT!

If he isn't eating that is a major issue. Clowns should eat almost as soon as released into your tank.

Try changing up the diet you are feeding. Is he a wild caught fish? Does he show any physical signs of illness, clamped fins, blotchiness, gaping when he's breathing, flared gills, etc?

good food to induce a feeding response:
Live brine (probably best stimulant but not very nutritious)
Frozen cyclop-eze
frozen brine
frozen mysis
caviar/roe
