Watermelon Challice

was the watermelon coral that was available at IMAC a couple years ago THEE tyree if not, whats the difference between the one that was handed out @ IMAC and the TYREE original watermelon (not the red watermelon)

The name Tyree. To me the Tyree name is a marketing gimic, to inflate the price of a coral. Don't get me wrong, some sweet corals have the Tyree name tag on it but I have picked up frags and colonies of stuff that looks identical to a tyree piece and pay a fraction of the cost of what people pay for a frag and what I pay for a colony.

Just curious...Where in this post does is there information regarding if this is the original tyree chalice or if it was the one from IMAC?

BTW- I did not answer the question because I did not know the answer.

Just my .02, cats are much more fun to kick than horses. Better distance and you don't have to worry about being trampled after.

Oh, yeah, LE, Tyree, etc naming is mostly hype and $$$ IMO also.

Answer the question please. I have my own opinions on the name Tyree. IMO, u cant agrue with some pieces, such as the Purple Monster. Others, the name can be thrown around.

So answer the question, is the Watermelon that was given out a few years ago at IMAC the SAME original Tyree Challice, or different.

Well the second part of the question is simple IMO. If its not the tyree le then it originated from a different tank, or is a different color morph....i havnt seen it. I take it it looks the same so probably from a different tank or recievd it at different time than other coral. All the name means is every frag after that with that name is supposed to come from that coral.
so back to original question, is it the same?

How many were handed out? Tyree only frags his out once, maybe twice a month.

the watermelon chalice from tyree is worth every penny i paid for it. it one of the most beautiful chalice i seen.
