I just picked up a Watts quick connect shutoff from Lowes to connect my RO/DI to my topoff container. So no one needs directions on how to install it, but there were instructions in the bag. Curiosity got the best of me so I looked at the instructions and I see a warning.

WARNING: This product contains chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm. (Plumber: California law requires that this warning be given to the consumer)

What gives?

It's all plastic.

I guess either no one cares about the warning, no one read the warning or the warning doesn't mean anything......

probably the lubricant used on the valve. I have used them, and they are on alot of RODI's so I wouldnt worry about it.

They probably mean if you eat a handfull of that kind of lube you might get sick, and therefore have to put a warning on it.
