Wave Action Help!!

I just can't seem to figure out how I can get TIDE action in my 8 foot long tank. 500g.
I want the flow to go one direction for 5 to 10 minutes and then reverse. can't seem to find a product or design for this.

You could try two OM 4 ways devided on opposite ends as I will be doing on my 8' or 2 Tunze Boxes, though the wave action seems a bit to fast for my taste. The OMs are supposed to be about 1 minute rotations, so 30 seconds one way 30 the other.

Can't Tunze be programmed like this? Put two 6200s on one end and two on the other. Program one set to power on for 10 minutes and then go off while the other two kick on. Have you checked the Tunze wavebox? One of them on each end could give you some great wave action.

are you following me around!? Yes, can do the Tunze programable also, but the wavebox has quick action as far as wave back and forth, seems a bit too fast for my taste though people who have them rave aout them.

yeh I would like a more slow subdued flow as I keep alot of LPS as well.
the TUNZES X4 or OC 4WAY might be the best bet.
MAL, why are you using 2 x OC4WAYS? are you using 2 pumps??
like 2 DARTS?? it would be a bit much plumbing for me as I really only have 1 small side to work with on plumbing.
both front and back are viewable and the opposite side is my overflow.

yes, my tank is in the wall and my returns will be coming from the bottom, 4om on one side 4om one the other with 2 darts for CL. I have another dart that will be used for my return from my sump and it will have 2-4 on the back wall, I haven't decided yet.

This will be a bit different from the Tunze and I cannot give a solid comment yet as it has not been run, I hope to let you know about flow in about 2 months or less.

For my 7' long 400G tank I'm using a Barracuda pump with a OM 4 way. I have 2 returns on one end at the top and 2 returns on the opposite end on the bottom with a 45 degree elbow to aim the water up some. This setup gives me a nice wave action across the top of the tank. With the two upper returns flowing, I get a counterclockwise rotation water flow in the tank. With the two bottom returns flowing, the flow pattern is reversed. I don't have any corals in the tank yet as I'm just now getting the tank set back up with the new plumbing. I also have another C/L with a Hammerhead and teh returns are in the bottom of the tank pointing up but are covered with rock formations so teh water is a lamanr flow out acros the sand bed. I also have a Dart as my sump return that returns over the top and points towards each back corner at a 45 degree angel.
