wave box sounds like my father snoring :/

Hello!

My name is Fredrik and I live here in Sweden.
I've bought a wave box for a little over a month ago. After 24 h the wave box stopped and an alarm was set of. It seemed like the impeller could not move.
Now (a month later) the spare parts (pump, controller and the round black thing) have arrived and the box is now working again :D

Now to my concern. I thought that the snoring sound (sounds like my father when he is sleeping on his back) would disappear when I changed the parts but it didn't.

It "snores" every time when the pump is started and sends out the wave/water. It does not take in air.
There is a sound from the top of the box where I can hear the water "splash". That does not concern me.
What does concern me is the snoring sound that I can hear all the way to my bedroom and to my kitchen on the other side of the compartment :/

My three 6060 is very quiet and does not give any sound at all, but this snoring from the wave box is quite annoying.
The wave box is located in the back right corner with 2 magnetic holders holding it in place. (works like a charm these magnetic holders btw)

Any idea about the snoring sound? Or if it is suppose to sound like I have my father sleeping in my compartment all day long :P

Best regards.
Fredrik from Sweden

It will make some noise, I would try raising it up a little and just to test, try removing the cover of the wavebox to see if that gets rid of the noise. This will help me find where the noise is coming from and I can offer some suggestions.

I raised it up about 2 cm (3 cm above water) and then it started to throw out some small air bubbles. Removed the cover on the top but all I can hear is that the noise still is there and it comes from within the box :/

Do you have the rubber bumpers on the magnet holder? I would also try removing the bearing bush from the pump and reinserting it turned 180 degrees.

No, I only have them on the outside, not inside the tank.
Can I release the wave box from the magnet holders (on the outside) and have the box "freely" in the tank (holding it a little bit away from the sides of the tank) ?

Bearing bush, is that the o-ring or the blue "stuffing" around the pump?

The bearing bush is part 3a (3000.62) in the breakdown of pump parts in the manual. The sponge (blue stuffing) should be on the back of the pump and not covering the inlet portion. It is not a filter it is only to control vibration. Put the rubber bumpers on the inside to help control the vibration.

Ah.. excuse me, did'nt know all that much english. Now I see in the manual where it's located. I should rotate it (like clownwise) 180 degrees and then insert it again?
I will switch the rubber-magnetholders to be on the inside then.
The sponge is on the "back" of the pump and not on the intake where the water is going .. :)

No problem. Yes, rotate it 180 degrees and reinsert it, this often solves some vibration problems. It is important taht you use the bearing bush that came with the replacement drive unit as over the years the parts have changed and while they may interchange well enough to work, they can be noisy if they are not matched properly.

Ok, then I will disconnect the wave box, and do all the changes :)
I'll be back when I've tried this..
Mayby my father will stop snoring tonight ;)

Now I've tried. The little thing is rotaded 180 degrees and the small things (rubberthings) are now om the inside.
Still no change.
I will try to post some pictures here now :)

Everything looks correct. The wavebox does make some noise. It is hard to say what is the cause without hearing the noise. If it has been in use for less than 2 weeks I might let it run for a while and see if it does not improve.

I will let it run for some weeks and come back to you later. Maybe I can record the sound somehow :)

I let you know!

Thanks for all help.
