Wave box water motion calculation?

Could someone be kind enough to post the formula for calcualting what the wave box will move an hour? I know the calculation has something to do with the length of the tank and height of the wave but forgot the rest.

I also am wondering the following: I have my tank off teh stand for now as we finish up the room it is going in. I have heard it is best to lower the level of the overflow by about 1.5 inches to ensure the most wave for the money. Is it also a necessary evil to widen out the openings when this is done. What do people recommend as teh tool to do this with?

The tank is 72-36-24 and was constructed with cast acylic.

Volume of wave is calculated in mm as l*w*h/2. You then convert this to liters. .001 cubic meters is a L. Then multiply this number by the frequency of the wave in seconds and then by 60 to get Liters per minute.

So for the length and the width do I use the aquarium? and do I conver to Millimeters first?

could you post an example of this equation ofr reference?
