wave box work for my tank?

Hello, my tank is 72x20x20 inches(125 gal). How high of a wave should I expect?

Also, I have a corner overflow on the right side(facing the tank) any problems with this?

Work or not?

It should work, expect a 1-1.5" wave, the overflow noise will be the biggest problem.

Also, would you say the wave box is going to drammatically improve things?

I wonder what kind of oxygenation this would effect. Couple more months and it will arrive.

The wavebox does lift and suspend detritus so your other pumps can remove it. Most people who measure redox report an initial drop and then the levels rise. I don't see the price dropping any time soon. At present the biggest problem is the Euro is very strong, when it drops in value the price will improve on our end.

Also I hear that the wave box mimics natural waves. Is this true?

I always assumed that waves travel up to the surface then down to the bottom, and not left-right like the wave box does? Which part of the wave is it missing? Randomization?

Yes, as close as you can get in an aquarium.

About the 1-1.5" wave it will make, can the hight of the wave be controlled?

Also, what about having another flow device pointing at the box.(my return pump) Will that stop the wavebox from working? Where would it be placed ideally?away from flow directed at it?

It will shorten the flow slightly, a return doing about 600-1000gph will likely have no effect. You can control the wave height to a limited extent but if their isn't room for at least a 1" wave I wouldn't do it.

Well right now im running a gen-x hp 1200 gph. The amount of room I have available is about 2" with no water. If I reduce the amount of flow coming out from my gen-x return pump then I can get 1.5" of space. Sound ok?I am thinking that 600-800gph over the overflow instead of 1200.

Also, when I purchase this wavebox, what does it come with? Anything you would suggest extra to buy with it?

It comes complete, if your tank is a standard glass tank with no perimeter braces or cap, nothing more is required. Otherwise it may require the magnet holders.

The movment from my box rocks my stand back and forth by 1/2 a millimeter. Should I be worried about that?

Ps: the clip to attach the wavebox sucks!:lol:I had a hard time getting it together.....

But, the wavebox looks so cool. Cant imagine the tank without it. Kind of neat how the ditritus flows towards the wavebox. It moves the dirt a millimeter over every wave. very cool.

I would use some shims to stop the rocking, it will cause trouble down the road. You can buy a pack of wood shims at the hardware store for usually a couple dollars.

Do you stick a wood shim under the tank? I dont think that my floor is unstable or somthing thats causing the rocking.Its sitting on carpet and I live in an apartment. The floor is solid concrete on the third floor.

I would think that its because I have a tall diy stand with 2x4's, 8 of them holding the tank up. The stand is about 4 feet tall. So it rocks due to the hight, I think. But the rocking is small barely noticable. How can I fix that?

Maybee putting some of those L shaped metal braces on each corner would add strenght? Any advice. Dont want my tank collapsing over:lol:

An X brace in the structure will add the most stability. You could try gusseting all the corners as well.
