Wave in seahorse tank

Hello all,
can seahorses stand wave makers ? or 2 power heads on opposite sides ?

my biggest mistake when making this seahorse tank was the drain, which is way to small to take the flow I want, so I ended up using 2 aquaclear power heads inside the tank. currently they are both on one side of the seahorse tank. also alot of soft corals int heree which seahorses seems to like to hitch to :)

would it cause Issues if I got a wave maker and placed the PHs on opposite sides to make waves ? it would suspend more detritus and also my soft corals will love it and I like waves :P biut if seahorses wont I forget about it .

thanks

I've used alternating current in my SH setups for years with no issues. It's really a matter of making sure there are spots in the tank where the SH can escape the flow and not be buffeted around all the time.

Based on your tank info in your siggy, I'm assuming the SH setup is a 25 gal, which is pretty small for two PH's unless you get a couple of small ones and aim them creatively. Also, be sure you have guards on the intakes of the PH's and if you use Korallias, use the nano version as they come with built-in guards.

thank you Greg, yes, its a 25G tank.

I use 2 aquaclear Powerheads, and the pressure isnt much.
I used a MJ first, and the flow was so narrow that I felt bad if a seahorse gets cought on it :) and other Issue would be flow in a narrow band, not all the water moving !

now Im thinking, what if I install a power bar (spray bar, the ones from canister filters ?) on MJ and place it on one side, cut the spray bar for the width of the tank and bam, have it flow across the whole width, to get mor water (mass water) movement ?

hmm I guess I should try both and see, thanks, will post pics soon to see the outcome.
