I have a 30l nano in my bedroom thing is my wave maker is loud it's of eBay and I have already learned that it is way to powerful for my tank (9000 litres an hour) lol, just wondering if it's okay to have it off at night until I purchase a quiet nano one haha?

As long as there's water circulating in the tank you're good.

Yeah I think you'd be okay being that the tank is only ~8 gallons.

I would recommend a hydor koralia nano, I have 2 on my tank and they are pretty much silent. Also they are very reasonably priced ~ $30

Most people shoot for a turnover rate of about 30x - 50x. So for an 8 gallon tank it would be somewhere around 240gph which is exactly what the koralia nano outputs.

Yours at the moment is about 300x turnover rate which is extremely high.

That's what I'm looking to purchase good to hear that they are really quiet, thank you

I have my ecodrift 8 turn off at night in my 4ft. Leave the eco drift 4 and return on. As well as two uv pumps in the back chamber

As for quiet pumps the aquamedic ecodrift pumps are brilliant loads Of different pulse settings and power settings and silent. The 8 has a light-sensitive to drop to 50% at night. I turn mine off as theres not much need for all that flow at night
