I`m planning to use one wavebox or with extension for it if needed. I need to know what effect on the tank those will do.
Tank is 120" 24" by 36" high.

By effect on the tank do you mean wave height or do you mean stress to the tank itself? Any surge device will stress seams and shorten tank life, this is also true of the wavebox, the water is shifting around and this stresses the seams, you can expect tank life to be about 10-15% less and it should only be used on a fairly new, name brand tank on a sturdy, level stand. As for wave height, there are many variables, but a single wavebox will likely produce a 1/2"-1" wave if a single wave is tuned and with an extension, double that should be possible, the tank is a bit bigger than a single wave box is rated for but it may provide satisfactory results so I would start there. Rock layout, overflow position and tuned frequency are big variables that are hard to account for so I cannot 100% say how big a wave would be.

Ok Thanks I`ll try one wave box for now , I know about stress for the tank , 1/2" should be fine.
