yikes...
been watching the tank for about an hour after getting the waveBox dialed in & my computer monitors are all moving around!!! i will be building some sort of trim edging for the top (i run this tank open) to block out that surface movement for sure!!
this sucker can really make you feel the motion of the ocean!!
anyways i got the box dialed in in record time (about 15 minutes)... had read some previous posts on what to do and it went quickly.
HOWEVER, i must say that for a product costing over 500 duckets, it is a weee bit chintzy on the construction.
this is my first tunze product, and i was amazed at the thinness of the plastics used. i guess if it works well (which so far it seems to be doing in spades - i will be buying some dramamine for sure
) and doesnt fall apart in a year (which i expect it wont), then ya cant complain... that was just my first assessment.
on to the reason for this post:
the bottom "lid" "cover" whatever is flimsy to say the least, does not lock or close securely (nor is there a way to do so) & is already rocking forward within an hour or so of running... it doesnt seem to be moving forward any further than it already has (i would say it has moved a touch less than an eighth of an inch --about 3mm-- forward... enough so there there is a gap past the back lip where i can see the foam ring a bit)...
anyone experience this? any elegant fixes? im thinking zip tie might work or i can pull it out & mess with it and make it fit tigher...
any opinions on how important it is to be tight? i mean there is mention of putting the screws in the back of the unit (which i did) to make it function correctly... so i figured this might be important.
any thoughts would be appreciated...
