Wavebox Confussed

I have the wavebox.

I am confussed on the directions to tune in the box so to speak to provide the maximum wave. I called the number on the website and it is a residential number. Can I get a number or more instruction on setting the wave properly. I have the power max and the dial max and still not getting a wave. Not sure how to tune it in with the dial. The light keeps going from feed to wave and keeps doing this.

That is what I am afraid of, that all of a sudden I am going to have a flood. Does it take hours or minutes? Also, why does the light keep going from feed to wave. And I am not sure I did the dial in correctly. The instruction where VERY unclear in this part.

You need to carefully tune the knob. You are setting how frequently it turns off and on. This is in a range from .4 sec to 1.6 sec. When you get itright a wave starts after a couple pulses, it is more or less instant on hitting the right frequency but every tank is different and I can only tell you that approximately 1sec is the correct interval for a 6ft tank. The light is only showing off or on. Red by feed indicates off. If you don't have a wave you have not hit the needed frequency and need to keep trying. I would start at .4 seconds and tune it up very slowly and watch what happens to the water surface.

So the light is suppose to switch from feed to wave constantly? So I turn the knob a tad, wait until I see what??? I am very confussed on this portion of the setup. All the wayy up towards the fat part of the arrow means longer between waves? It is a 6 foot tank, how do I know where 1 sec ison the dial or .4 for that matter?

Thanks for trying to help me out. When the wave is there it is indeed an AWESOME device to own, My wave is just not consistent. I would say a wave every minute at best.

Do you have it positioned correctly? is it in the corner of the tank and the top of the box should be above the water level, with the pump positioned with the power cord towards the top of the box. If you have done these already then its just a matter of fiddling with the two pots. I would start at halfway and adjusting one of the other.

The foodtimer light is actually the red light that says pump on next to it, when this light is off the foodtimer is active. The red light next to the foodtimer button is pump on and the green one is pump off. You are trying to create a single wave, i.e. crest at one end, trough at the other. If you are getting an ocassional wave it is not set up right. Maybe someone else here can give you more info who is using one on a 180 but I think you are overcomplicating it. It has to be positioned on one end of the tank. The wider end of the arrow for pulse time is more seconds the narrow end is less. Just sit their and slowly turn from less to more just a very small amount (fraction of millimeter) and wait about 10 seconds between each adjustment. I would expect you will get a wave at between 2 and 4 o clock position of the dial. I am sorry but every aquarium is different and their is no exact setting for each tank. The wavebox works on the principle of resonance frequency and everything about a tank determines this frequency, even as corals grow it needs occasional readjustment.

I will try this tonight. I have the wavebox positioned correctly. I will let you know how it goes and look at the lights in detail.

Thanks for all the help.
