It should work, that is the same thickness as the 125 from other manufacturers. The usual issue though is seam failure, not glass failure, thicker glass helps because their is more surface area at the seam but being a good bubble free seam is also important. Their is no definite here. For that matter you could not use a wavebox and for some unforeseen reason the tank could fail tomorrow. It isn't two much different from your or my life in that regard. We only know that the wavebox does stress the seams and will have an effect on the life of the tank, hence the disclaimers in the manual. Tank manufacturers give warrantys to boost sales but after 20 years, usually far less the customer will be out of the hobby, have a bigger tank, have lost the receipt, or the store will be out of business so the warranty really shouldn't be interpreted as a testimony to how strong the tank is. Even the best tanks if moved alot, drained and filled alot, subjected to climate extremes, unlevel stands will leak and it isn't a reflection on the tank quality.
