Wavebox in a 4x4x2?

Will it work? What is the lowest wave height I can acheive and still have it be effective?

Anything shorter than 3/4" will not provide enough flow to justify the expense.

No, it is so wide you would need an extension.

What thickness material would be recommended for a 4x4x2 with external wavebox? I'm specing the tank out with 1" all around except for bottom.....Would that suffice?

It sounds sufficient but that is outside of my league, I would find out what the tank manufacturer would use as a standard and go up one size.

Only reason I ask is that I'm followin another post and see where someone from Tunze had recommend going up 1 thickness than stock.....Honestly don't see how anyone could say "stock" depending on how tank is built and bracing???

There are industry standards for how thick tank builders construct a tank, usually a premium tank like Oceanic is 1/8" thicker than the minimum engineering standard.

Thanks......James from Envision will be doing the build so safety is always factor in the picture.....I'm just curious because I see so many one with 3/4" acrylic....
