wavebox in my 120

I have a WB in my 120 48x24x24 the tank has 2 RR overflows on each end. With the WB on max I get a 1/2" wave. I have tried to find a better sweet spot but the only wave action I see is on max.

I have tried adjusting WB height, potentiometer and location but no change. The next thought I had was to make a solid guard that goes around the 90' of the overflow (kind of a baffle) the water would be deflected under to my overflow. The thought is that this would allow the wave that is created to hit a more solid surface and return with the force it needs. Instead of being dampened by the RR overflow.

Am I off base? Is it the tank? Have you heard this feedback? If so what is the solution?

I really love the WB but am worried if I run the device at 100% all the time I will have premature failure.

Thanks

wow, I have a 50" tank. It's pretty much an oversized 120. I just installed a wavebox in my tank 30 minutes ago and I'm getting a 2 1/2" to 3" wave and I didn't even have to adjust it. I just plugged it in and the factory settings were perfect. The pulse is turned all the way down and I haven't even checked to see how high the wave action is set. The flow from mine is completely unobstructed, I'm sure that makes a difference. BTW, what's the photo cell for?

the photo cell will activate your box when your lights are on and make sure your box is off when the lights are off so all the fish and coral are in a calm environment.

Like I said is it me or mine????

yup tried all different settings/pulse and get no action until I turn it to almost max/max

Be sure to check the following-

Don't mess with the potentiometer, leave that at full power.

Be sure the screws are installed in the holes in the back, whether you use the rails or not.

Make sure the open side of the screen on the pump faces up.

Make sure the foam sponge is not covering the screen, it is not a filter, it is just there to dampen vibration.

The shot across the tank should be as unobstructed as possible, preferably a clean shot to the other side of the tank.

Once all these are checked, then try tuning it again, keep in mind a hair width turn is all it takes to make the difference between 1/2" and a 1" wave, that entire wheel is adjusting from .40 seconds to 1.40, I think even with end overflows which definitely dampen wave height you should get a 3/4"-1" wave when everything is correctly set up.
