Wavebox on a rimless tank

I'm having a tank built for me that measures 60x30x24" and has the overflow centered on the back. The interior overflow will measure approximately 24x3x5" and I had two concerns regarding the use of a 6215 unit:

- The company standard for overflow skimmer "teeth" is 1" but I'm concerned that I may want them marginally deeper with a wave in mind. I do not plan on a large wave, so would 1.5" or 1.75" be acceptable?

- Since the interior portion of my overflow box will only occupy the top 5" of the aquarium, and I will have no rocks resting against the back glass, is it feasible to place the wavebox in the back corner? In this scenario, I'm fairly certain that it's outlet would remain completely unobstructed for the full length of the aquarium.

Thanks so much for the help - we've emailed back and forth a number of times building my equipment list and this happens to be the final concerns. I thought it would be more forum-appropriate, for other users facing the same concerns.

I suspect you will want a roughly 1" wave and you would want at least .5" from the wave to the edge to prevent a lot of splash over. In general .25" of an overflow is covered by overflowing water so a 1.75" grate would give you about 1.5" of room, I think this would be the minimum.

I think the placement should be fine.
