Hi, I dont have yet the 2 6100 that I want yet but I do have the tunze wavebox.My queston is if it is possible to do the initial cycle (sand and about 200# of live cured rock) with just the wavebox?

You could. Just be sure to keep debris siphoned up and add more flow as soon as possible, fresh rock tends to have a lot of die off even if it is cured.
