Wavebox question

Does anyone have any experience with the Tunze wavebox? I have a 90 gallon and am thinking of getting one but I am concerned about water splashing out of my aquarium.

Yes.

Unless your water line is all the way to the top, it wont splash out.

I kept the water line in my 90g about 1.5" below the trim and the wavebox gave me about a 1" wave. (1/2" up - 1/2" down.)

There are 2 knobs on the wavebox controller. One is the frequency and the other is the strength. Once you get the frequency dialed in you can turn down the strength so your water line will be right where you want it to be. One thing to look into is that the ends will fluctuate and if you have a dual overflow setup they will make some strange noises. Ideally, you should have one overflow in the middle of the back wall so the level never changes at that area.

From video Ive seen the wave action seems to rock back, and fourth a little faster on a 4ft tank. It still looks like nice water movement. You can probably search here, or you tube for some video.

Was some video here on RC in the nano section of a guy running one in a 30g tank.

It works fine in my 90. I have a canopy on top that is lower than the wave trough with the refugium return running, so I don't see the wave looking at the tank except when I turn off my refugium return. I see the obvious motion of the tank inhabitants, but I don't see the wave rise and fall on the side. My overflow is offset to one side and it still works fine.
