Wavebox Question

I am looking to put the large version into my new 300 and have a question. My tank is an island type where the end is against a wall and viewable on 3 sides. I had the overflow done on the end against the wall in a box configuration. There is a nice gap between the overflow box and the side class, plenty of room for the wavebox. I also plan on doing eggcrate/foam/LR rubble on that end of the tank to give it a more natural look. I was going to cut holes in it to place the powerheads but am wondering if I can notch out the space for the wave box as well. Will I need to allow the entire face to be visible, or just the input area (round nozzle) at the bottom?

wave box

wave box

it works better the longer the box can spread across the tank mine is free about half the tank and i easy get a 2 inch wave as long as it can push the water to get the tanks rythum you will be fine remember to tune the control very slow i usally get a wave at about 12 0clock on the control

You can cover pretty much everything except the output nozzle. The water coming in to the wavebox through the nozzle not the top or bottom. Make sure you do make a plan to remove the wavebox for cleaning :D.

As Troyman mentioned above, take your time on the tuning and make small adjustment everytime, stop and observe for a min then make another adjustment till you get it right :D

Just remember you will need to get things out to clean them every few months. Otherwise it should be fine. The wavebox should have a fairly unobstructed shot down the length of the tank.

Thanks, thats what I thought on viewing photos and videos but wanted to confirm.

It will be easily removable, I just wanted to make sure the sides and bottom could be covered without a problem.
