Waveboxes and Tank Seals ...

Does the Tunze Wavebox have the capacity to destroy tanks? I would think that the constant sloshing back and forth of water will eventually wear all the walls of the tank and the seals -- the same reason many tank manufacturers don't suggest transporting a tank with water in it.

That being said and if that is truly the case, would it be better to purchase something that is molded from one piece of acrylic (like Tenecor for example)?

Yes, it will weaken the tank over time. So would any surge device Acrylic will likely stand up better to this treatment but they are such a pain in other ways I wouldn't do it. Exect it will take a couple years off a tanks life and a good tank lasts 15 years or so, not many people keep the same tank for that long so I think it is a moot point. It isn't the sloshing itself, it is the changing load that makes the seams flex repeatedly and eventually the silicon looses elasticity and gives.
