Waveline DC return pump for 75g?

I will soon be setting up a 75g display (stardard reef-ready overflow), with a 20g long for a sump, in the stand under the display. So very common set up. Vertical headloss will be under 4', straight 3/4" pipe, plus a 90 degree bend to outlet. I will not be running any other equipment off the pump. I am looking at a RLSS waveline DC pump, but since I can't seem to find pump curves for any of the DC pumps online (it seems like this is really basic info that the manufacturers should supply, with a curve for each setting) :headwally: so, I am having a hard time picking the size.

I am thinking the DC 4000 should suffice, I don't really want to go up to the 6000 if I don't need that power.

Any thoughts?

Im running my 75 gal with sim setup and I'm using the Diablo DC 5500 and its working great...I went with a larger pump because with DC you can throttle in down with with the controller they come with.

I think dc pumps lack the pressure an ac motor has, and my pump called for 1.25" outlet but I used a 3/4 which from my understanding throttles down the dc pump alot.
So make sure you use the prescribed outlet size.

Interesting, I had not considered that. Either pump I am looking at has a 1" outflow. The tank can handle 1" piping, and I have not started to assemble my plumbing. I will need to contemplate all of this...

I've used the Gen2 Waveline 4 and 6000 on a RR 90 and really wasn't impressed. Unique design and definitely small and sweet pumps but would definitely go for a 12000 throttled down.

Just my .02
