wavemaker powerhead recommendation

I do NOT use a wavemaker. But I do have my system set up so I can turn off the powerheads while feeding.

I like the korailias...800's or so. I have three of them-some knockoffs and some not. I am replacing them too often. The K's as well as the knockoffs.

Wanted to get some input on the best to get out there for the money/use.

What are your recommendations?

Well.. I've had the same hydors for years and they are still working just fine.. Don't often hear too many issues with those from what I've seen..
Do you maintain them in any way? (cleaning/vinegar soak,etc..?)

Tunze makes excellent powerheads..
Vortech..$$$

You don't have to wave if you don't want to with any powerhead....

I've heard great things about the maxspect gyres. Ive just bought the xf230 for my new build. Yet to use it though.
They are meant to be great for total water flow. They just need to be alternated with another gyre or pump to create different flow patterns or adjusted.
Might be worth a look :)

I have hydors that I have been using for several years as well. I just clean them every few months and they keep on ticking. Simple and cheap work fine for my needs. I can buy 8 hydors for the price of a vortex. I have been thinking of trying a gyre.
