Yes I tried mine and when it stops then starts back up it pulls air creating bubbles....nerve and eye wrecking!!!!!!

I've been running 2 620s on one for about 3 years now -- not a single proplem -- I just clean them about every 4 months or so.

If it's sucking air it might just be the distance to the surface difference. When they draw air in they are more likely to chatter as they purge the air.

Yep, that is the same one I am using. The only thing that I can think of is that mine are lower in my tank, and can't "vortex" air into them??

Once in a blue moon I will get a second of noise, but overall not that I noticed.
Should add, tank is in my family/living room - and 90% of the time the Tv and/or stereo is on at a decent volume.
