Waving hand removal

You can try kalk paste and burn it off. I would just do a small section at a time. Never done this myself.

That sounds like that would work depending on how much you have to cut, I would run a bunch of carbon after cutting.

I've been actively trying to keep Xenia out of my display for years now.

Cutting off the stalk only slows it down. As any remaining tissue will very quickly (within a few days) sprout new polyps. Its really difficult to dislodge Xenia from the substrate also. Kalk paste is kind of hit or miss too, but probably your best option shy of removing the rock. Just be persistent and keep hittin' it.

When I moved my tank a year ago I took out a saw and cut off the whole section of rock that had Xenia . . . and it returned.

when i go to thin mine out, besides dodging my clowns that live in it, I take an exacto knife and peel up the footing it has on the rock. It peels off pretty easily, and its a quick removal. Been doing it that way for ~2 years now and it works great for me....

Sliver's got it

Sliver's got it

I agree with sliver-moon. I just pry it off. Once you start handeling it and it srivels up then take your finger nail or an exacto ( i find really sharp things leave a bit of their flesh behind which regrows quickly as mentioned) and peel it off the rock. Since they move like an anem. they don't make the strongest bond to the rock. About the only place I let it grow is the glass. It makes for easier removal.

i scrub it off with a toothbrush(the hard one that people use to clean their denture), try that the flesh will come off the rock

Well....I got the rock out along with waving hand and pulsing xenia. Soo anyone have any large LR they want to get rid of ?
