Wavy Sea set up, need help

hi,
I recently purchase a Wavy Sea & followed the instructions in setting it up. I also purchased the bracket so it will mount on AGA tanks that has the plastic rim. Upon plugging in the unit the controller reads "0" & not the recommended "5" after I pushed on/restart button, the main body started to make rotating/mechanical sounds. there are only two cables. one for the power & one for the controller, there is no way you can plug it the wrong way since it has a certain shape. What can I be doing wrong or is this a defective unit?

Wavy Sea has a forum on RC in the Sponsors section. I saw this thread:

which sounds like your problem, and then yes, it would be a faulty unit. That person had it replaced and it started right up then.
